Promoting interactions between the generations is a priority for the Topsfield COA.  Programs and events have been developed to increase multi-generational experiences:

Intergenerational Week

Every summer during the first full week of August, we invite youth from around town and beyond to participate in many of our regular activities.  Wisdom is shared during "Coffee & Conversation". "Silver Screenings with Vinny: IG Edition" is always a highlight!

"Grand-Friend" Program

Senior citizens are paired with youth in our community to encourage friendships between the generations.  This program has been growing during the COVID Public Health Emergency.

Valentine Greetings

Homemade valentines crafted by children are distributed to home-bound seniors in the community.

S.C.A.D. Dinner (St. Patrick's Day)

In 2020 Due to the pandemic students made bookmarks, cards and Irish recipes to be distributed to the home-bound seniors in the community in lou of the S.C.A.D. Dinner

This Senior Citizen Appreciation Dinner is sponsored by the Student Council at Masconomet High School every year around St. Patrick's Day in March. Students provide dinner, entertainment, and gifts to show their appreciation for senior citizens in the Tri-Town communities.

Back to Campus Trips

We enjoy heading onto local college and university campuses to share the experiences of 17-23 year olds.  Exploring  campuses in and around Boston by touring, attending events, engaging in activities, and more has proven to be a wonderful way to connect with another generation.
