Purchasing Agent

Working under the direction of the Town Administrator/Chief Procurement Officer, the Purchasing Agent performs several tasks associated with the purchase of municiipal supplies and equipment, and oversees the daily procurement processes required by Massachusetts State Law, including Chapter 30B.  The Purchasing Agent is responsible for various town-wide support services, including facilities management, coordination with the Town Hall Building Committee, and coordination of the Town's risk management activities with MIIA Cabot Risk Insurance Company.

Iin the area of purchasing, the Coordinator serves as a central purchasing agent for Town Departments to ensure cost effective purchasing in compliance Massachusetts General Laws governing procurement of municipal supplies, goods, services and construction projects.

The Purchasing Agent also assists with numerous duties related to the annual budget process, Town Meeting warrant preparation, compiling the Town's Annual Town Report and assisting with the ongoing capital improvement planning activities.

The Purchasing Agent serves as a key member of the Town's Financial Management Team alongside the Town Administrator, Town Accountant, Treasurer Collector and TriTown Elementary Schools Asst. Superintendent.
