Gov. Baker Issues Order Requiring Face Coverings in Public Places Effective 5/6/20

On May 1, 2020 Governor Baker signed an Order requiring face masks or cloth face coverings on all people age 2 and up in public places effective May 6, 2020. This includes both indoor and outdoor places where social distancing is not possible.

Examples: grocery, pharmacy and retail stores, public transportation, ride-sharing and more.Click here for more information including examples of face coverings, how to make a face covering and the Governor's Order.

Do you need a face covering? The Topsfield Board of Health is providing free cloth face coverings to Topsfield residents. Contact the Board of Health to request by phone: 978-887-1520 or email: health@topsfield-ma.gov . Please include name, quantity needed (1 per person in each household), address.

  • Thank you to volunteers who are sewing face coverings or donating fabric/elastic. There is a bin at the Library for donations of cloth face coverings or supplies.
  • Thank you to the Topsfield Fire Department for delivering face coverings to our residents.
