The New World of Genetics

The field of molecular biology has taken a dramatic turn over the past 4 years as genetic engineering took a major step forward with the development of CRISR, a technique that provides researchers unparalleled control over genetic modifications.  We'll take a brief look at the technology and focus on its implications for medicine and man's ability to engineer new living objects at will.  The technical, legal, moral and ethical implications will be debated.  Society must guide this technology.  This will be an opportunity to learn enough to help make those decisions.

10am on the 2nd floor of Topsfield Town Hall.
