Topsfield Firefighters and Mutual Aid Units Work Incident on Ipswich River

Topsfield Fire units along with mutual aid from Ipswich Fire and Hamilton Fire have been working an incident where several canoeists became lost and distressed on the Ipswich River. Boat units from Ipswich and Topsfield were deployed in a coordinated effort to locate the travelers and assess further needs such as medical attention or additional rescue and extrication assets. As of this posting at 17:39, all parties have been located by Topsfield Firefighters aboard TFD’s marine unit and are well. Crews are working on assisting the party back to the boat launch area.
