FY18 2nd Qtr. Tax Bills due 11/1
Fiscal 2018 second quarter tax bills have been mailed.
This bill will be due and payable on or before 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1st.
Under the quarterly payment system, interest on late tax payments will be charged
for the number of days that the payment is actually delinquent. For example,
if a payment due May 1st , is not made in a timely manner, interest
will be charged from that date until the date the payment is made.
Bills may be mailed to the lock box at the Century Bank or paid
in person at the Treasurer/Collector’s office.
Town residents may also pay their Real Estate and Personal Property taxes
on line at www.topsfield-ma.gov. This payment method serves to accommodate
those residents who want the convenience of paying their taxes online, any time
day or night but there is a $.50 fee attached. Credit card payment option is
available but will require a fee imposed by the credit card processor.
By statute, a tax bill is mailed to the assessed owner(s) of record as of
January 1st of each year. If your property has sold since that date, please forward
the bill to the new owner at once. If a new owner has not received a copy of the bill,
he/she should immediately contact the Treasurer/Collector’s office at 978- 887-1511.
If you escrow your taxes, please make sure the lender receives the tax invoice.
Tax collection companies do provide the service to pull files.
Please keep a copy for your records.
A reminder, there is a donation available for contributing to the local scholarship
and education fund. The amount of the contribution should be added to your tax bill
and included with your payment.
