Description
The Board of Health is composed of 5 members who are appointed by the Board of Selectman. They work in cooperation with the Town Sanitarian/Health Agent. The duties of the Town Sanitarian/Health Agent consists and are not limited to:
- Interpreting and administering Title V which deals with septic systems
- Promoting the health of the Town both by disease reporting, outbreak inspection and scheduling of clinics in coordination with the Visiting Nurse Association
- Inspection of established eating establishments and seasonal food vendors
- Establishment of regulations which may be associated with health risks such as tobacco control and tattoo/massage parlors
- Responding to health related complaints.
