Description
The Computer Technology Committee's primary role is to advise the Board of Selectmen on computer-related topics, trends and issues as they relate to the Town of Topsfield. In addition to making recommendations to the Selectman, the committee will periodically review departmental and town technology plans to insure that they are adequate to support the business needs of the town.
Committee Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the town's long-range (3 to 5 years) Technology Plan.
- Prepare recommendations for upgrades and procurement of technology equipment and software for the town.
- Act as liaison or advisor for town departments' negotiations on technology procurement.
- Act as advisor to other committees on technology matters.
- Act as a resource for town employees on technology matters.
- Insure minimum technology needs are in place to support the town's business needs.
Current Projects:
- Focused on upgrading the technology infrastructure at Town Hall to allow for Internet access and secure E-Mail use
- Building first long range technology plan for the town.
