Exercise Classes

COA stresses the importance of regular exercise in maintaining elder health.   A variety of classes are offered and are featured in the newsletter.

YOGA - Available May  through December of each year.  Classes are offered free of charge.

Fridays 9:30AM - 10:30AM at Little Brook Village in the Community Room, 69 Washington Street, Topsfield.  Please bring a towel, mat if you have one, and your own water bottle.   Free van service is available, to schedule a ride call the COA Van Line at (978) 887-1523.

STRENGTH TRAINING - Increase flexibility and energy.  Class is being offered once a week with Donna D'Agostino.  Day and time for class will change during the year due to the instructor's schedule.  Class is being offered free of charge.  The class will be held throught the end of December 2010 on Tuesdays from 9:30AM - 10:30AM.  For more information on dates class will be held call the COA office at 987-887-1523.

TAI-CHI CLASSES - Tuesdays & Thrusdays 10:30AM - 11:30AM, Mark Warner's Professional Marital Arts Academy on Route 1in Ipswich offers a class in Tai Chi.  It is for people who wish to improve their health, fitness level, ability to focus, balance, flexibility, coordination, stamina, strenght body posture, and endurance.  For information, call (978) 356-9800.  Classes are free, just walk in.

ZUMBA - Exercise Dance Class - Thursdays, 10AM - 11AM beginning October 28th and ending December 23rd at the TOpsfield Fairgrounds Bee Building, 207 Boston Street, Topsfield.  This is an 8 week sessions sponosred by the Friends of teh Council on Aging, but a donation of $3.00 per class is being suggested.  Bring your own water bottle to class.
